Daedalochila auriculata (Say, 1818) Ocala Liptooth Near Little Black Creek

Clay County, Florida

    During a field survey on 5/28/2020 Daedalochila auriculata were discovered in the roadside swale on the north side of County Road 220, Middleburg, Clay County, Florida. Fourty intact empty shells were found with the shells found continuously for about an eighth of a mile from just west of the County Road 220 bridge over Little Black Creek eastward toward Knight Boxx Road. No live specimens could be found. A return visit was made to the site several days later and an additional 31 empty shells were found. Again no live specimens could be located.
