Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Rosy Wolfsnail Cannibalism

Buried in grass, roadside swale on the west side of US-1 about 3.4 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida 11/13/2021. When initially discovered it was believed that the pair were engaged in mating activity. However,  it was soon obvious that the larger specimen had in fact just devoured the smaller of the two with little of the snail body remaining.
