Triplofusus giganteus (Kiener, 1840) Juvenile With Bait Shrimp Lunch

This badly damaged juvenile was found enjoying a bait shrimp lunch in a tide pool adjacent to the south St. Johns River jetty at Mayport Naval Station beach in Jacksonville, Duval Co., Florida on 1/9/2009. Despite being temporarily removed from the tide pool for photographic purposes, the little fellow was in no hurry to turn loose of its prize. Nearby fisherman on the jetty rocks likely were the source of the shrimp.
