Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) Mating Pair

This mating pair was discovered in about three inches of water on 7/20/2005 and placed on the lake/retention pond bank for photography purposes. When initially discovered, only the female (left) was visible. It wasn't until she was netted and removed from the water that the male specimen (right) was apparent. The male specimen measures 51 mm.
