    The campus lake appears to be over-run with small leeches which attach themselves to virtually any mollusk shell that is available. However, for whatever reason, the leeches seem to prefer the ventral surface of living Pomacea paludosa [Florida Applesnail]. Some specimens have been found with over a dozen leeches in residence [see image].
