Muscovy Duck [Cairina moschata] |
| This mother and her six ducklings were photographed on the shoreline of Lake Oneida on the campus of the University of North Florida in southeastern Duval County, Florida on 3/28/2005. Mother Nature didn't treat the happy family kindly and by week's end only two ducklings remained. It's uncertain whether any of the ducklings, or the mother, survived the predators (birds of prey, alligators, etc.) which reside in the lake environs. |
