Crabbed in runnel, southern Little Talbot Island, Duval Co., Florida 7/1/2005 (24.5 mm.)

Although this species is not uncommon further south on the east coast of Florida  (Flagler and Volusia Counties), the above illustrated specimen is the first known record from Duval County. A living specimen was subsequently found at Big Talbot Island in Duval County on 7/3/2008 (about four miles north of where the crabbed specimen was found). On 7/30/2013 Brian Marshall found six live specimens on the south St. Marys River Jetty at Fort Clinch State Park in northern Nassau County. See: Nerita fulgurans Gmelin, 1791 Antillean Nerite
