Sclerodactyla briareus (Lesueur, 1824) Hairy Sea Cucumber

This specimen, somewhat the worse for wear as a result of the pounding surf, was found washed in upon the beach following the passing of Hurricane Frances. This species is not uncommonly found in the wrack line on the beaches of northeast Florida following heavy seas generated by northeasters or hurricanes.
