Pomacea diffusa (Blume, 1957) Spiketop Apple Snail Jaws

The jaws pictured below were extracted from two snails collected In the drainage ditch immediately adjacent to the SAM's Club on Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida 5/26/2017. The jaws small size, as compared with those of other Apple Snail species (Pomacea paludosa, P. canaliculata and P. maculata) with a similarly sized shell, makes them difficult to locate.
