| Although a single Pomacea egg clutch was present, no live snails could be located. Considering the presence of mammalian predators (see tracks in foreground below), it appears likely that during times of no water that any living snails would ultimately be found and eaten - even if buried in the substrate. Six empty Pomacea shells were in fact found but they exhibited no predator damage. |
