Gastrocopta contracta (Say, 1822) Bottleneck Snaggletooth Ovum (Part One)

    The ovum pictured below was deposited in captivity by a third generation offspring of a specimen originally collected on 3/28/2014 along Harrison Creek, Harrison Fork Road, Nelson County, Kentucky.  The presentation below, through use of a microscope, follows the ovum for eight days and chronicles its development throughout that period until hatching.
