Musculium transversum (Say, 1829) Long Fingernailclam

    Dead in small nearly dry creek (headwaters of Turnbull Creek) on International Golf Parkway about 1.15 miles east of Interstate 95, St. Johns County, Florida 10/26/2008. The largest of the four specimens illustrated measures about 10.8 mm. This is the first documented instance of this species being found in northeast Florida. The species was abundant at this location.
