Live Pomacea maculata Perry, 1810 From The Old St. Augustine Road Lake (6/26/2012)

The specimen, probably searching for suitable substrate to deposit its egg clutch, apparently became trapped on the lake overflow culvert during extremely high water caused by several days of torrential rains. This is the only Pomacea found thus far in the lake although the presence of egg clutches along the shoreline indicates that they are present.
