Daedalochila sp. aff. auriculata (Say, 1818) Ocala Liptooth Variant C (Page Two)

    Pictured below on the top row is a representative sample of Daedalochila collected at the Paynes Prairie site on 5/13/2011. Pictured in the bottom row is an extremely large specimen Daedalochila auriculata collected along the St. Johns River just north of Picolata in far western St. Johns County on 9/18/2010 which may be the largest specimen ever collected. Specimens from the Picolata area measuring in excess of 17 mm. in length are periodically found but not at other stations in the county.
