Wood Stork [Mycteria americana]

    This young Wood Stork, sporting two bands, was photographed on the bank of an urban drainage ditch in southeastern Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on 11/11/2009. It was one of two that were present in the area. Wood Storms are not uncommonly seen along roadways in Duval County. The species has been listed as endangered since 1984.
