Daedalochila auriculata (Say, 1818) Ocala Liptooth Along International Golf Parkway At US-1

St. Johns County, Florida

During a terrestrial mollusk survey on 10/11/2014, two empty Daedalochila auriculata shells were found in the roadside swale on the north side of International Golf Parkway (also known as Nine Mile Road) west of the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks and near the intersection with US-1. No living specimens could be found. The site was subsequently revisited during August, 2015 and additional empty shells were found in the roadside swale on both the north and south sides of International Golf Parkway west of US-1. One of the specimens appeared to be freshly deceased thus indicating living snails are present.
