Mesodon thyroidus (Say, 1817) White-lip Globe

     Ten of the twelve pictured specimens were up trees up to about 12 feet above ground. South side of Joe Johns Road in the flood plain of Little Black Creek, County Road 220 0.2 miles NW of Knight Boxx Road, Clay County, Florida, 8/21/2021. The species routinely climbs trees. During the site visit on 8/21/2021, a total of fourteen Mesodon were found - twelve of which were in trees while the other two were crawling on the muddy substrate.
