Mesodon thyroidus (Say, 1817) White-lip Globe Up A Tree

     Up a small tree about four feet above ground in the flood plain of Little Black Creek, County Road 220 0.2 miles NW of Knight Boxx Road, Clay County, Florida, 8/11/2021. The species routinely climbs trees. During the site visit on 8/11/2021, a total of 10 Mesodon were found - nine of which were found in trees. The tenth specimen was found sheltering under a discarded aluminum baking pan such as might be used to bake a turkey.
