Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Juvenile

Found on the underside of palm frond about five feet above ground, International Golf Parkway, Twelve Mile Swamp, St. Johns County, Florida, 6/10/2020 (27.9 mm.). The primary source of food for Euglandina in this habitat appears to be Helicina (Olygyra) orbiculata (Say, 1818) [Globular Drop] and Drymaeus dormani (W. G. Binney, 1857) [Manatee Treesnail] both of which live on the underside of palm fronds a considerable distance above ground. Also see: Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Rosy Wolfsnail In Situ. The pictured specimen was dissected and no prey snails were present in its gut.
