Pomacea paludosa (Say, 1829) Florida Applesnail Eggs In situ

    From a snails perspective, all Spatterdock [Nuphar lutea] leaves are apparently not created equal as is evidenced by the six individual egg clusters deposited on a single leaf as shown below. With acres of seemingly identical leaves to choose from, the snails' attraction to this one leaf is truly a mystery.
