Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Variability

Pictured below are nine specimens (seven live collected) found in the roadside swale along Nine Mile Road (International Golf Parkway) in St. Johns County, Florida during October, 2009. The live collected specimens exhibit vivid coloration which fades significantly over time. The live collected specimens were dissected and found to have fed almost exclusively on Polygyra species which are very common in the areas where the Euglandina were found.
