Bulimulus sporadicus (d’Orbigny, 1835) Egg Laying And Eggs

The Bulimulus sporadicus pictured above was found in the process of depositing eggs beneath a discarded railroad tie along the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks near the intersection of Old St. Augustine Road and US-1 in Bayard, Duval County, Florida on 7/24/2018. Several other adult Bulimulus were also nearby. Also present beneath the railroad tie were two egg clutches (designated above by arrows) including the one on the left which has a recent hatchling crawling atop the eggs. It's uncertain whether the pictured clutches were deposited by a single Bulimulus or were the work of multiple specimens.
