Drymaeus dormani (W. G. Binney, 1857) Manatee Treesnail In Situ

         On probable Laural Oak Tree (Quercus laurilfolia) six feet above the ground, along Nine Mile Road at the western edge of Twelve Mile Swamp, St. Johns County, Florida 2/28/2021. The tree on which the Drymaeus were aestivating had a total of three Drymaeus present. The large vine pictured is Eastern Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron radicans) and Drymaeus are occasionally found seeking shelter near the larger vines.
