Busycon carica (Gmelin, 1791) Albinos

On March 13th and 15th, 2003, brothers Dave and Drew Vachon collected what may be the first recorded albino Busycon carica while shelling during low tide at Canaveral National Seashore on east coast of central Florida. Two of the specimens measured 75 mm. while the third was 85 mm. in length. The three specimens are illustrated below with normal colored specimens collected at the same location.
