Feeding on Pomacea diffusa Blume, 1957 [Spiketop Applesnail] Egg Clutch
Bradybaena similaris (Férussac, 1821) Asian Tramp Snail

On 7/26/2009 two exotic Pomacea diffusa [Spiketop Applesnail] were collected in a drainage ditch in southeastern Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida and taken home and placed in a makeshift aquarium (scrub bucket). One of the two Pomacea subsequently deposited a single egg clutch on the side of the makeshift aquarium on 7/28/2009. The Bradybaena pictured above was found feeding on the egg clutch during the morning of 8/6/2009. A repeat performance, possibly involving the same Bradybaena, was observed during the morning of 8/17/2009 and the evening of 8/26/2009.
