Buried in sand at mid beach following northeaster, minus tide, Mayport Naval Station beach, Duval County, Florida, 1/20/2007 (35 mm.)
This species is uncommon in northeast Florida and is very rarely found on the open Atlantic beaches. Instead it prefers more sheltered waters such as inlets/sounds. The illustrated specimen is only the third specimen found on the beach by the photographer in 17 years of active shelling.
