    Empty shell found on dock following flood at the former site of the Outback Crab Shack, County Road 13 at Six Mile Creek, far western St. Johns County, Florida 10/30/2017. This species is native to the west coast of Florida to Texas and Yucatan Peninsula. The illustrated shell is presumed to have been transported (either dead or alive) to the location where it was found in a shipment of oysters/clams originating on the west coast of Florida to be sold at the seafood establishment.
